Federico Marrone

I am a PhD student at the Department of Animal Biology of the University of Palermo. My PhD project deals with the systematics and phylogeography of the west-Mediterranean calanoid subgenus Occidodiaptomus (Diaptomidae, genus Hemidiaptomus). My main interests deal with freshwater crustaceans. From 2000 onwards I've been studying branchiopod crustaceans, from 2003 calanoid copepods. Beside my PhD project, I am interested in the taxonomy and distribution of freshwater microcrustaceans in the circum-Mediterranean countries. I am a member of the "Societas Internationalis Limnologiae (SIL)" and of the "Società Siciliana di Scienze Naturali (SSSN)".
